Hi there,

Please bear with the n00b.. I've been a happy Zorin Ultimate user for over a year and love it. I see there's a 6 out, with some stability issues.

I'm wondering...is it possible to upgrade the Ubuntu I'm running under the Zorin without upgrading the Zorin itself? Sorry if that's a silly question, I've just never had to do it before.

The only reason I'm looking into upgrading is because I'm dying to install gimp 2.8 and the repository is only good in the newest versions of Ubuntu, or in Windows. Thanks!

Hi,
due to the fact that Zorin has its own system files, it is not advised to leave your /home partition intact and simply upgrade, you should back-up all your data and format both root and home and do a complete new install!!.

Sorry I cannot tell you anything else!!.
