Unity look in Zorin

Is there any way to install unity in zorin?

Or even better, to get a unity look added to the look changer? That would be a nice idea for zorin6 final!

I know that many people don't like it, but I have used it in ubuntu 12.04 and it think it suits my needs.

Any ideas?

Hi MV,

you would need to talk to the devs, you can install Unity via the repo, they might make an extension for the "Look Changer". If you do install it, it will change the complete look of Zorin and be just a more or less version of Ubuntu I would think!!.

I know that I could install ubuntu, it's just that I like zorin much more. Zorin is faster and more complete.

I am experimenting now with some looks of the cairo dock with side bars.

It would be really nice though if the devs could include a unity look in the look changer.

Hi MV,

I think you misunderstood me, you can install unity still using Zorin but it will revert the OS to a Ubuntu DE.

Do you know how to do that? I would like to try it out.

I suppose I download it from software center, and then what? How do I set it as as my DE?

Hi MV,

I have a better idea:

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

If you really want to install Unity, just install the package from the repo and at the login screen, select the Unity DE, I think it is called "Ubuntu" in the list!!??.

And I agree with Swarf, btw; I do have Ubuntu 12.04 on my notebook but in "Classic Mode", I just don't like Unity; simple as that!!.

As it turns out, I will not be needing to do anything of the above as Zorin 6 premium will include a unity look !!!! :D

WM you agree with swarf but the devs agree with me!

Just kidding. As I said, it's good to have it as an option and if someone does not like it, he may never use it. But I can understand the sceptic of the devs, as unity might be the future DE.

I will not be the default DE. The default will remain the win7 look. The unity will just be an option for the mentally perverted, like myself...
