Zorin 6 White Screen Flashes...

Using Zorin OS 6 on an IBM ThinkCentre with a P4HT 3.0gHZ/Intel i915 gpu/1.0 megs Ram. Occasionally the screen will flash bright white, just for a split second, sometimes for three to five times in a row. This is most noticeable when the screen saver starts or upon running Wine programs.
I have also noticed that when running Wine programs, I lose the enlarge/minimalize/close window click boxes. A simple logout and login will restore these, but...
Any help, I have read through the Forums...
Thanks,
CA

Hi,

firstly follow this guide starting with the 3rd option in the broken files section:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2247

secondly, if you have an Nvidia card, I have filed a bug report to admin!1.

Let us know is this helps you.

Thanks, guys, but no help. I even adjusted my prefs like the pics dictated and performed all the steps/actions on that page. I did get 76 new downloads, tho... ;-)

I was actually trying this out on my machine to update/replace my Wife's ZorinOS 3.1 with a little newer version. Guess I'll just leave her version 3 alone for now. She most likely would have trouble with this version, too. She has an Intel i810 gpu...

PS~This should really be looked into for other prospects, ya know what I mean?
Thanks again.

Wolfman, I did everything the page you linked recommended to do. No, I don't have an nVidia gpu.
Thanks, though...

hi,

if you used a DVD, did you burn the disk at the slowest possible speed, if you didn't, you will get read/write errors on the disk and this may be the cause of your problem!!.
