SOLVED! Desktop Is Haywire

I installed Zorin 6 Ultimate, and, for a few days, all was bliss. Today, suddenly, I can't use the os at all: When I log in after bootup, the desktop background suddenly goes blank and reappears, moving the mouse causes uncontrolled blinking, and I can't close windows that I have painstakingly opened. I have tried several backgrounds and looks, but nothing helps. Perhaps I'm missing some boot command in my grub; I don't know.
No fixes worked -- I had great trouble even opening a terminal -- but I reinstalled Zorin 6 Ultimate and it seems to be working well.

Hi davec51,

try the 3rd option in the "Broken Files" section and let us know if it helps:

Thanks, Wolfman. Things apparently were so bady broken that I couldn't make headway with fixing. I don't keep documents on this hard drive anyway, so little was lost in the reinstallation.
