I have a mini netbook that requires the "intel graphics media accelerator 500 driver" to operate the video properly. My question is; does this os have that driver available? I'm looking forward to trying Zorin on my pc, appears to be exactly what I'm looking for.

It is very likely that your GPU will work just fine out of the box, especially with Zorin6 which is based in kernel 3.2.0-25. You can create a live CD or a live USB of Zorin and try it out before installing.

If you get any problems, there are various forums for your card like:

But I suspect that all these problems must have been corrected by now. As I said, try out the live CD before installing and see how that goes.

Hi,

to the best of my knowledge, Intel are now (as of ubuntu 12.0) supported out-of-the-box so you should be okay, you might want to try Zorin 6 in live mode before you commit to an install.

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT ZORIN OS CORE 6 IS NOT DESIGNED FOR NETBOOKS!!.

Here are the min requirements from the Zorin OS homepage:

What are the minimum system requirements that I need to install Zorin OS?

For the GNOME based versions (non Lite):
700 MHz x86 processor
3GB of Hard Drive space
376 MB of system memory (RAM)
Graphics card capable of 640x480 resolution
Sound card

For the LXDE based versions (Lite):
266 MHz x86 processor
2GB of Hard Drive space
128 MB of system memory (RAM)
Graphics card capable of 640x480 resolution
Sound card
