small questions=>1. desktop folders, or ???

Now that it is friday and I shall soon visit with my desktop PC and it's ZorinOS, some small questions arise which I've tried to find answers for - but to no avail.

Premise:
ZorinOS wishes to attract users away from ween-doze (a beautiful thing !).

Assertion:
Given the above, making the OS more comfortable/familiar can only be desirable.

Background:
Folders made upon the desktop - when opened (as a default ?) do so in a Nautilus window with 2 panes and/or whatever defaults may be applicable.

My first of these questions then, is:
Is there any alternative which is able to make a neat, single-paned box-like 'folder' presentation much more like what ween-doze does when the same actions are made ?
Perhaps some tool or other default which may be set for only this task ?

Given that 'desktop folders' is such a hugely common search term, this is very difficult to search on !!!

Thanks for any help.

Hi 2moldy4me

Don't know why your folders default to two panes mine default to one, but pressing F3 toggles between one and two.

Thanks Auldyin, you are always very helpful !!!
When I do that it seems to change ALL Nautilus windows from then on; is there a way to use something else or any other way to just open & use desktop folders differently from other folders ?

Thanks.

Hi Wolfman.
Thanks - but as I posted just before:
When I do that it seems to change ALL Nautilus windows from then on;

So I have to say it's not (as yet...) sorted.
Thanks.
