hard drive replacement

I have Zorin 5 lite installed on an old laptop. After using it for a few days, I really like it. However, I need to replace the hard drive, as it is making annoying screeching noises (i bought it a month ago for 20 bucks!) SO, as a new user, can someone tell me how to move everything from this bad drive to a fresh new one? It wouldn't be a big deal to just do a fresh install, but if transferring is hassle free, i'd prefer to do it that way.

Hi!
For how many GBs are we talking about?
Can you boot to your desktop? You could just transfer all you necessary files to a USB flash drive or to a DVD.
If your system is no more that 4GB, you could also use "remastersys" http://www.remastersys.com/

If you cannot boot to your desktop you could prepare a live USB and transfer your files via live session.
Or you could take out the HDD, and either connect it to another PC or use something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-2-0-TO-SA ... 4165b61549

It currently has a 60gig HD, but that is even way too big for my purposes. I'll probably get a 20-40gig to replace it.
