[SOLVED] Problems with GnoMenu

Hello all! I am a newcomer yo Zorin, but not to linux, han been using linux for over 15 years.

Here is the problem, when I was clicking on Administration, the menu crashed!
trying to find a solution, went to the GnoMenu site and downloaded the latest release, installed the source file, and the problem got worst! No menu at all, just the little face :( on the bar, so I switched to the normal gnome version to be able to use a menu.

Already reported the problem:

Public bug reported:

The problem seems to be the script: /usr/share/avant-window-
navigator/applets/GnMenu/GnoMenu.py (size 4,8kb)

Is there any way around to make it work again, re-installing the app maybe?

Right now using a GnoMenu Icon theme is the work around. The Zorin OS
team is still actively developing GnoMenu and I have passed on this to
them to see if they can correct the issue, as it is something they wish
to correct as well.

Is there a easy fix, re-installing a package or re-creating the user account?
or using a Gnome Icon Theme instead of Zorin'ś theme ?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi,

take a look here and run the 3rd option in the broken files section first, then try fully updating your system:

This "Bug" has nothing to do with updating and/or upgrading it, is something known by the GnoMenu developers, and it happens with Zorin.
If you use an original Icon theme from the GnoMenu project, it fixes the problem, happens with a highly customized version of Ubuntu made by Zorin.

I have fixed this thing already, (sort of) thanks for the response Wolfman...

By the way, First thing I do when installing a distro, is upgrading to the latest packages, then install all tha apps I want to use, (and they are a lot, believe me!)
and finally some cosmetic work, make it look as I like it. (have been a Linux user since Red Hat 5.1 and Mandrake 5.1) plus a little unix, FreeBSD, long time ago!
(when we use the console/terminal to get things done!)

Best Regards.

I use exactly the same order... :)
