This is for a 32 Bit system only (MX340 series IJ Printer Driver Ver. 3.30 for Linux (debian Package archive):

http://support-asia.canon-asia.com/cont ... 72101.html

The package you downloaded is for the 250 series!!.

Hi granul,

what I am looking at is your file name which you linked to and it is not for your printer, the link I found is for the 340 series but only for 32 bit, I cannot find a 64 bit package!!. It may well work!!.

I would at least give it a try as you have nothing to lose!!.

Hi!

I did intall the file from the link you provide http://support-asia.canon-asia.com/cont ... 72101.html, i use the command line "sudo dpkg -i --force-all *.deb" because I could not find the 64bit driver. After installing, when i go the the material/printer, i see the canon MX340 installed, but it does not print. The printer is working on wifi with my other compuetr that is on windows 7. I wonder if I could use ndisiwrap for wifi printer?

Thank you

Hi!

I tried http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1543191 also and still cannot print. I am running this computer on linux, no windows, but I find Linux complicated when it comes to hardware, specialy printers.

Thank you for the help

Hi granul,

I can only suggest you search the web further for answers to your problem; or you can download and install the 32 Bit version of Zorin which would save you a lot of heartache, you can install the PAE kernel if you need to boost your RAM as you have a 64 Bit PC.

Hi granul,

if you only format the /root partition and not your /home, I don't see a problem when you re-install with the 32 Bit version and want to use Evolution, all your settings should still be there!!.

Hello Wolfman,

Uxcuse my ignorance, i'm not a pro with Linux, How do i do this format the /root partition and not my /home, you mean I don't have to make a new installation of the 32bit I just install over the 64bit?

Hi!

It is strange, I install the scanner driver for the Canon MX340 using the same command line "sudo dpkg -i --force-all *.deb", and the scanner is working, so I realy don't understand why the printer is not working,

I manage to print but I had to plugin the usb and I use samba to configure the printer. Cannot print using wifi printer.
