Hi,

if you burnt a disk, did you do so at the slowest possible speed??. If you didn't, you will get read/write errors on the disk.

Also, did you try booting in safe graphics mode which is the 2nd option in the boot menu.

Thx Wolfman.... I will try your suggestions...

This is a clean install no other OS running in this laptop... this is my crash and burn system... I am evaluating other Linux desktop distributions...

Trying to find suitable one for day-to-day user operations.... web / music / e-mail, stable and does not have a steep learning curve...

Thx for the help

succesfully installed.

I think, the issues is if you select to encrypt your the home directory during theinstall...

so, the questions, when to expect a fixed & how to turn-on this option after install...

Not sure if this is still relevant ... Ubuntu installs used to hang at the 'creating users' page because the first letter of the username was upper case for some odd reason and if you changed it to lower case everything worked properly

Use it to install in the safe mode, and through an external drive source, rather than disk drive, coz a burnt-compatibility might be causing a suffer here.
