I have installed zorin version 6 core. Double clicking gnomenu will cause it to crash. If I click it again the menu will not appear. Any idea how to solve this problem?

Wolfman,

yes already done that still gnomenu still keep crashing. If you double click zorin icon after that the menu will not appear you need to logout and login again in order the menu will appear. Any other idea how to solve this issue?

Hi,

don't double click menu!!, a single click should suffice and does this happen with all themes; or just a particular theme??.

Hi,

try completely re-installing using and adding this PPA:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnomenu-team/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install gnomenu

Restart your PC after install.

This is a 3rd party PPA so use at your own risk!!!!.

Wolfman,

I tried your suggestion but when I do the sudo apt-get update I got this error

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnomenu-team/p ... ce/Sources 404 Not Found

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnomenu-team/p ... 6/Packages 404 Not Found

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

this ppa was no precise version. any other suggestion?

Hi,

unmark the PPA's you added in your software sources list (see pic below) then try this in a terminal then restart:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

followed by:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

I have also started to have this problem... It is getting very annoying because i have to log out and log back in so it will fix it.

Is there a script i can get so it just restarts the menu without having to log out?

Does not seem to work. tried doing that and then restarting and to no avail.

It seems i have to wait at least 1 second every time i want to press the start menu.. have you never had this problem before?
