(SOLVED) GnoMenu issues

Quick Question: I'm testing Zorin OS 6 within a virtual box before deciding to install on my main system. I've noticed one "bug" and one "feature" issue that perhaps someone can help me with:

1. Bug: Sometimes I have to click the GnoMenu 2 or 3 times to get it to appear. Is this a known bug or is this a virtual box issue only?
2. Feature: Is there any way to increase the font size of the menu entries "Computer, Network, Connect To, etc." along the right-hand side of the Windows 7-look menu? My old eyes find the text very small.

Thanks for any assistance!

Hi Glen,

I would say that the menu problem is a VM problem, it is not a known bug afaik.

To change global font size you need Dconf Editor which you can install via a terminal with the following command:

sudo apt-get install dconf-tools

Then open dconf Editor and make your changes:

Show date and day in clock:
Dconf Editor > Com > Canonical > Indicator > Datetime > Show Date/Show Day

Change global font size:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Desktop > Interface > Text-scaling-factor 1.0 (1.0 = font size 10. and 1.1 would be font size 11 and so on) (Mine is set to 1.2 = Font size 12)

Change icon size on desktop:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Nautilus > Icon-View > Default-Zoom-Level = Small

Show/Hide buttons:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Gnome Panel > Layout > Toplevels > Top Panel

Show/Hide Desktop icons = Trash/Computer/Home;
Dconf-Editor > Org > Gnome > Nautilus > Desktop

Stop Media Auto Mounting:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Desktop > Media-Handling > Automount/Automount-open/Autorun Never
