Hi

I recently switched to Zorin from win. I cant figure out a way to add force close button to the awn panel. Alternatively i would like to define a custoom shortcut key for force close. How to do that? How can we do it for other applications.? I need the command we execute for this?

Hi,

take a look at the pic above, right click on the panel and open AWN settings > Task Manager > Add, a window will appear and then click on "Browse" > File System > Usr > Bin and add the command for the app you want to start, give it a name and save it.

You can also install apps via > AWN Settings > Applets

For keyboard shortcuts > System settings > Hardware > Keyboard > Shortcuts

Hi

Thanks for the quick reply. What i am looking at is the command we have to type in the command box to make a "force close" shortcut.

Cheers

Hi,

try this, I thought it was in the repo already!!:

You can also add this PPA but I don't know if it will work for ubuntu 12.04:

This is what i was looking for, however when i add the custom shortcut as ctrl+Q , the keybord dialog box shutsdown, i am entering "sudo shutdown -h now" for force close,
Alternatively how can i add this to the default zorin taskbar, not a new awn dock.?

Hi,

according to comment 4 on that link I sent you:

"There is an even simpler solution.
Create a keyboard shortcut eg. ctrl+shift+x, that runs 'xkill' command.
After hitting the key combination, you mouse cursor turns into 'X' and you have to do is mouse-click on the non-responsive app. :)"

Open system settings > hardware > keyboard > shortcuts > custom and add a custom shortcut with the given command.

Hi,

glad it worked :D :D

I found this if you are interested:

http://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu-lin ... -launcher/

It says it is for unity but it should work!!??.

Also, it appears to be called "FlashFreeze" now:
