How to come out of sleep mode

I'm running Zorin OS based on 11.04. There are power options to put the computer in suspend mode but then I'm not able to "wake it up". What am I doing wrong? Is there a key combination I don't know about? Or, does Zorin OS just not support suspend mode?

Pressing the power button should also work.

I don't use it myself, I always found it a pain since I can't remember when!.
