[SOLVED] Zorin keeps logging off???

Hello all,

I don't know why, but my Zorin installation keeps logging itself off. The screen goes black like the power's been cut, and then after a few seconds the log on screen comes up. When this happens I lose all of my unsaved work.

I've also got Ubuntu and Windows 7 on my netbook, and I never have this problem with either of those, only with Zorin.

Any ideas?

Try this,

Plug an ethernet cable to get internet (not wifi)
Reboot and from the grub menu choose the recovery mode (usually 2nd option).
From the new list choose "dpkg".
Let it run, this will update your system and fix broken packages, if any.
After it's finshed, reboot and see if your problem has been fixed.

Thanks for your advice. Tried repairing the broken packages but couldn't get that to work.. had trouble activating the ethernet interface in recovery mode for some reason. Weird.

Anyway, I'm not sure how or why, but it seems to be fixed now. I haven't had it log off on its own in over a month. It's running great, no problems to speak of.

Thanks again!

Hi,

glad to hear its working again, were you trying to update in recovery mode using a Wifi connection??.
