I had a Zorin 6 DVD, and I installed it on another computer, had about 362 updates needed, but it wouldn't let me update completely, something about needing an upgrade on Zorin. So I just downloaded a "new" version today but that's outdated to. What's the deal??

Try updating via terminal. (Make sure you are connected to the internet)
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
If you don't have any success, do the following:
Plug an ethernet cable to get internet (not wifi)
reboot and from the grub menu choose the recovery mode (usually the 2nd option)
from the new menu choose "dpkg" and let it run.
This will update your system and fix broken packages (if any).
If still you don't suceed, post back here the exact error message you get.
