Hi,

open Synaptic and select dconf-tools with a right click for re-installation, then try "Dconf Editor > Com > Canonical > Indicator > Datetime > Show Date/Show Day" again.

Wolfman why don't I get these settings?

Show date and day in clock:
Dconf Editor > Com > Canonical > Indicator > Datetime > Show Date/Show Day

Change global font size:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Desktop > Interface > Text-scaling-factor 1.0 (1.0 = font size 10. and 1.1 would be font size 11 and so on) (Mine is set to 1.2 = Font size 12)

Change icon size on desktop:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Nautilus > Icon-View > Default-Zoom-Level = Small

Show/Hide buttons:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Gnome Panel > Layout > Toplevels > Top Panel

Show/Hide Desktop icons = Trash/Computer/Home;
Dconf-Editor > Org > Gnome > Nautilus > Desktop

Stop Media Auto Mounting:
Dconf Editor > Org > Gnome > Desktop > Media-Handling > Automount/Automount-open/Autorun Never

Hi Chris,

I asked you in a different post what version of Zorin you are using, you said it was Zorin 6, but from the pic above with "Gconf-Editor" I see you have Zorin 5 and that is why you cannot run "Dconf-Editor" because it is not available for Z5.

@WM.
I know you have said that for Zorin6 we need dconf editor, but I have installed and used gconf-editor without any problem. You can try and let me know.

Hi all,

an update on this thread, there was an updated version of Dconf Editor which now looks just like Gconf Editor so hence my confusion. (Thats my excuse and I am sticking to it!!)

I assume Chris that in the meantime you have worked out how to access the various sections of the Dconf Editor??.

My pic looks slightly different to yours as I have a different theme, yours shows arrrows and mine shows plus/minus symbols.
