Why is the screen so dim, like on battery after an abrupt shut down?

How do I fix it.

Alll was great till I tripped over & the computer had an abrupt shut down. It was downloading the upgrades.

Hi Chris,

start your PC in recovery mode and run "dpkg", you need a cable connection for this which you need to activate by clicking on "Network" before you start. Then restart your PC with "Ctrl + Alt+ Del".

All messed now...............the screen/ back ground is black & the browser is jerking real fast.......

To increase brightness you must find the key-combination for your laptop. Mine is Fn+F5. Check to see what your's is.

Thanks MD. Fn + up arrow to decrease, Fn + down arrow to increase brightness.
