After a fresh install I have 489 updates total size 610.1MB

What are you trying to tell us Chris??.

Since the original ISO was created and downloaded by you, there have been new updates on a daily basis to the system, this is a normal process, if you wait another few months, it will most likely increase to about 550 updates!!.

Thanks swarf. 1 question which I already asked WM probably hes away........... updates have to be downloaded in 1 go or can be downloaded in 2/3 sessions?
