Synaptics Clickpad Support

Ubuntu support of Synaptics Clickpad is VERY weak after 10.04. Have you done anything to address this deficiency in your newer versions of Zorin? I am using Zorin Ultimate based on 10.04 and have tried Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04 on my laptop and the clickpad will not work in them at all, even with some patches/hacks i found online . I would like to upgrade, but since my laptop has only a clickpad, i MUST have support for it before i can do so.
