Hi,

I would think that a simple "Copy & Paste" action should do it!!!.

i do apolagise - had to put kids to bed .It's 10.50pm here in wilds of north wales uk.
Anyway thanks for your understanding. Now what i want to do is i have 2 email lists list 1 has around 1000 emails no 2 list has 500 emails. I need to make sure that no 1 list does not have emails that are in no2 list.So i am hoping to end up with a 3rd result list that = list1 emails minus matching emails found in list2. Hope this is abit clearer than mud. Now i did read that this can be done in terminal or at least i think they mean terminal.this is the link

http://www.unix.com/shell-programming-s ... -list.html

i am a newbie that frankly panics with all this sort of stuff so any more help would be so appreciated ! thanks

Hi Paul,

looking at the link your post, they use the "grep" command in their example:

grep -v -f file1 file2

You can take a look on the net for guides on how to do it:

http://javarevisited.blogspot.de/2011/0 ... x-and.html

http://www.uccs.edu/~ahitchco/grep/

http://www.techradar.com/us/news/softwa ... ned-699455

I have never used it myself but if you have a look at the few websites I have provided, it should explain it to you.

Let us know how you get on.
