[SOLVED] kernel panic - not syncing : fatal machine check

My HPProBook 4720s with Zorin 6 installed stalls and reboots occasionally, always when in youtube or accessing my photographs.
Memtest is fine. Screen mentions Machine Check Exception, run the above through mcelog--ascii, then says " Machine check:Processor context corrupt " followed by subject above.
I have read that this indicates a hardware problem, and my thoughts turn to the ATI Graphics Card.
I am a Linux newbie, so any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

further to Swarfs recommendations, make sure you fully update your system, run "dpkg" using a network cable only (see "Broken Files" section) per the guide:

Hi guys, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. As a (very) newbie, I couldn't get the download from AMD site
to install, so I went into Synaptics, typed in ATI, and downloaded everything with ATI Radeon Driver or similar.
Have also updated everything available from Update Manager ; don't laugh, it actually seems to have worked,
no problems since.
Congratulations on an excellent distro, I was using Ubuntu but I much prefer your take on it.
