07:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Juniper [Radeon HD 5700 Series] [1002:68b8]
Subsystem: PC Partner Limited Device [174b:e147]
Kernel driver in use: fglrx_pci
Kernel modules: fglrx, radeon

I am also having sound issues when watching youtube videos and games crash like Nexuiz and Xonotic when exiting.

Try uninstalling/desabling the proprietary drivers (fglrx) from "additional" drivers and see if with the open source drivers (radeon) your laptop behaves better.

Open terminal and run
Code:
jockey-gtk

In the window that will open you can disable the proprietary drivers.
After that, restart and see if your PC behaves better.

PS. You have installed Zorin 6 beta? Why? The Beta version is unstable. Download and install ZOrin6 final from here http://zorin-os.com/free.html

Did the window of "additional drivers" open?
Also check these two very useful links

and

Hi,

when you burnt the ISO to disk, did you do so at the slowest possible speed, if you didn't; you will get errors like the ones you are having now!!. You should reburn the disk at the slowest possible speed and re-install. (This only applies if you used a disk install, if you used a USB install, see this guide and the part about running "dpkg": viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2247 )

If you have done all of the above and you are still having problems, you can try these commands in a terminal:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

and then:

sudo apt get update && sudo apt-get install fglrx

Let us know how you get on.
