Hi all,
I',m new at Zorin, so far I like it, already solved some problems, but I stucked with this.
I've got 2 monitors attached to a GT520 card. One of them is working OK, but the other one (Samsung SyncMaster 913v) should be 1280x1024, but the systems allows 1152x864 max.
I have the latest stable nvidia drivers.

The other monitor's resolution is 1400x1050.

Lowering the other one's resolution didn't help. Maybe the thing is that the systems doesn't recognize the Samsung monitor, it's unknown. I haven't tried the native driver yet. BTW, I have an ATI card as well, but with that the Samsung always flickered and I put the nvidia card in the machine.

Ohh, I think, there's no good solution for that
Can't you force Zorin to acknowledge the monitor?

Finally, I managed to solve the problem.
Here is how I did it:
-Opened the NVidia X server settings
-Turned off twin view
-Googled for the modelines for my samsung 913v monitor
-Edited section "Monitor" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf and pasted the ModeLines and HorizSync, VertSync values
-Voila: after restarting the resolution values appeared in the dropdown list
-Set the proper value and switched on twin view again
That's it!
