No date showing in bottom panel

Hello all, I am new to Zorin and liking it very much.
System faults keep being anounced with requests to send details which I do but it seems to do most things well and I love that it found my HP printer and installed the driver for it even from the live disc. TOP MARKS FOR THAT
One thing I can't understand is there does not seem to be a way to show the date in the bottom panel clock settings.
Clicking the aplet just goes to settings and clicking the set time and date allows just that.
How and where do I set the system to show the date along with the clock?
I thought it was there after the install but not in the last few days either in Zorin desktop or gnome.
Most strange
Best regards Ralph
