Just intalled the latest 32 bit version of Zorin this morning. Everything went well and looks good, except no youtube. Flash player installed according to software manager. What's up with this? Extremely basic and important-expected it to work out of the box as in does in Mint. Won't work on any browser I've tried.

Thanks for the reply, but I went ahead and deleted this operating system. If something this basic doesn't work, I'm sure it's going to be one time robbing thing after another in the future. If an OS wants to promote itself as user friendly, it needs to work this stuff out before putting itself out to the public. Too bad, as I really liked the looks of this one. But looks only go so far.

When installing the OS, did you have internet connection and have you checked the box that says "install 3rd party software"?

If not, it maybe the reason that flash player was not working properly. But even so, this could be easily "fixed" afterwords by running this simple command in terminal:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

You could also select to change to html5 (instead of flash player).
Go here www.youtube.com/html5 and click on "join the html5 trial".

It turns out the problem here was an issue with the computer hardware. The machine I've been running this and other Linux installations on has an XP2600+ CPU. None of these AMD XP processors support the SSE2 instruction set which is integral to the latest Flash software. Using an older version of Flash fixes the problem.

My "off the cuff remark" remains valid. All linux distos are full of such frustration. Some are truthful enough to admit that if you want to use them, you're going to have to put in some time and effort. The only reason I posted on here again was to help direct someone else to the solution.
