Network manager keeps dying

All was fine and recently i started having some stupid problem with my nerwork manager dying.
Not only it disconnects from network but also the option "Enable Wireless" is unavailable! Only system restart helps as restarting from terminal (wlan0 up/down) does not help.

I assume it started with with previous to last and/or last system update which included kernel. Does anyone have similar problems ?

Are you on battery when this happens...?

I have laptop (Hp Pavilion dv8). I aways work on mains power (not battery) and always with wifi on. What is strange is the way this wifi dies.
Normally I would be able to select "Enable Wireless" from menu but not in this particular case. "Enable networking" is still active.

What i noticed is that when this happens after clikcing on network icon I cannot open full menu. Instead I need to scroll through it like it wouldn't have a place to open itself.

Best will be to make screenshot when it happens next. I will also post error code that I get whan I use treninal to restart networking.

And that's how the network manager looks like after its crash (impossible to select "Enable Wireless":

When this happens, open terminal and post back the result of
Code:
sudo rfkill list all

Ok.
Or you could try to write in terminal
Code:
sudo rfkill unblock all

I have one PC that uses a wireless dongle. I am not having network manager issues; however, I noticed that when I was using Google Chrome that the web browser was behaving a bit sluggish. Not sure if the culprit was an update to Google Chrome or an updated kernel (3.2.0-34). Since using the 3.2.0-34 kernel Google Chrome seemed to stall/freeze from time to time. Then, I switched back to using an older kernel (3.2.0-33) and everything is back to normal.

So do you think it is Google Chrome or the updated kernel or something else?? Any thoughts on the subject is greatly welcome.

It did! thank you. I read a bit and I can blacklist it but question is - why did it started on perfectly good installation of Zorin ?almost un-touched configuration.

Here is the output:
Code:
rich@stu:~$ sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
[sudo] password for rich:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill
rich@stud:~$ sudo rfkill list all
1: hp-wifi: Wireless LAN
   Soft blocked: no
   Hard blocked: yes
2: hp-bluetooth: Bluetooth

   Hard blocked: yes
3: phy0: Wireless LAN
   Soft blocked: no
   Hard blocked: yes
rich@stud:~$ sudo rfkill unblock all

The results show that your wireless and BT are switched off by a switch on the laptop (hard blocked), and not due to a problem in firmware etc. (soft blocked).
This means that either there is a wireless button on the laptop that is turned off, or a key combination that was pressed and turned off the wireless (i.e. Fn+F2) or there is a setting in BIOS for wireless that is set to "off".

That's interesting. I reviewed all of my setting and indeed - something is constantly "switching" off wireless but I do not know what! my Pavilion dv8 has got this silly "touch panel" on top of my keyboard which suppose to control volume, media, wireless, etc. I am having constant problems with this touch panel. Maybe this is it ?

I have switched to wired connection and problems stopped with internet disconnections although problems with wifi presist. All the sime seems to be hard locked :(
