(SOLVED) flash drive not showing up

I have just bought a Toshiba 4gig flash drive, and zorin 6.1 does not show it as being installed when i try to use it,i have other usb drives and never had a problem with them
My Zorin 6.1 is the basic free one

If you can see it when you plug it in and then run
lsusb
in terminal, then maybe you just need to re-format it in FAT and partition it.

Can you see it in disk utility?

looks like its only showing up as a 2gig stick

Maybe the flash disk is partitioned in two partitions, and this is why Zorin only see the partition with the 2gb.

Open disk utility, select the Toshiba flash drive, delete any partitions it may have, create one entire partition for all the disk space of the flash drive (4gb) and then format it in FAT.
