RCA to USB adapter

Hello all. Has anyone ever used one of these in linux before? I have access to a couple of security cameras that are meant to be used with a vcr or dvr system. I have found products like this: http://sewelldirect.com/USBVideoCaptureAdapter.asp
and was wondering if it would work. I would set up a computer to use as an inexpensive home security system with a monster harddrive. I was hoping to use motion to record anything the cameras caught. I know it is possible with webcams that use a usb input, but webcams aren't weatherproof and don't have infrared capabilities. Thanks in advance.
