Is this the same computer the icons had a problem on? I am in NO way an expert, but Googling that error indicate it's a kernel problem across certain variants of the 2.6.x kernel related to SATA, which makes me think if it's not a software error, it's a hardware error. Wow. I can't even find that error in any version of Ubuntu on the forums. That's more common in Gentoo and Red Hat. Or even the kernel discussions themselves.

If you go to System Tools >> System Monitor, on the system tab, what version of Zorin is it and also, what kind of kernel does it say it have? If it is an older kernel (how that would happen on a new install is beyond me) you could upgrade it.
