How do I change the clock to 24h?

Rightclicking the clock - Time and date settings - Date and time.
I choose 24h and nothing happens? It still shows AM/PM mode.
Does anyone know how to change this?

Hi. Try this.
First install dconf editor
Code:
sudo apt-get install dconf-tools

Then open dconf editor and navigate to
Dconf Editor > Com > Canonical > Indicator > Datetime

The first line on the list on the right is named "custom-time-format" and the value next to it is "%l:%M %p".
Click on the value and change it to "%H:%M %p" (without the quotes).
Exit, and see if it worked. Just make sure that the change in value was actually made. You may need to logout/login.

After logging out and back in, nothing changed.
I looked at the dconf settings again, and noticed 'time format' at the bottom.
I changed that to 24 hour and it changed right away.
I thank you so much, it has been bugging me ever since I installed Zorin.

Now we are at it, do you know a way to change the desktop icon font to black?
Or do I need to mark this thread as [SOLVED] and start another?

I cannot really understand what you mean when you say that you want to change the "desktop icon font". Can you please clarify?

I want to change the font color of the desktop icons.

Please notice the font-colors of my desktop icons (eg. shortcuts)
They are now light-colored like this:http://tinyurl.com/b5vkurv
I want to change them to black like this: http://tinyurl.com/ayg8o3t
without actually having to change the theme to 'high contrast'

Ok try this.

Install "advanced settings"
Code:
sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

Then open "advanced settings". From the list on the left choose "theme".
From the options on the right change the "icon theme" to what you prefer.
