Mobile device wont connect.[solved]

Hi again I'm still having a hardtime with this mashine http://www.zoringroup.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4364 the owner don't need the wireless but he uses a mobile usb stick.

It seems to be connected but I can't get online (only with a cable) If I use the stick in my laptop it works perfect, but not on this zorin lite.. Can someone please tell me what to do

First of all follow my guide here to get the latest modeswitch installed. Your mobile broadband stick will be better recognized and hopefully will work.

You need the cable connection to carry out the guide.

No the cable works fine... the wireless never worked but he uses a usb stick. I didn't have the usb stick so I could not test it at the time.But now I have the usb and it wont work.. Before when he had windows xp the usb worked but not with zorin lite..

But it was recognized ok and I was asked for the country and provider.. but if you think it would help to run you sticky i will try that..

If only the the usb is activated it's able to get an IP but still no Internet..

I think you need to install build-essentials.

In terminal do

Code:

sudo apt-get install synaptic

and then try the guide again.

I tried a live session again it worked fine, så I made a new install and it works now.. don't know what went wrong but the problem is solved for now
