(SOLVED) Cannot boot from USB3 port - any advice?

Hello, I've installed Zorin 6.2 Ultimate on an SSD (Sandisk 64Gb) inside a 2.5" USB3 enclosure. I ran the install DVD and Zorin was installed to the Ext HD when plugged into the USB3 socket. However, it won't boot from the USB3 socket but only through USB2. Obviously, I'd like to boot and run Zorin through the USB3 but I can't see how it's done.

It seems the USB3 drive isn't recognised at BIOS/boot-up except when plugged into USB2. I've tried playing with device boot order and turning USB legacy on/off but still no joy.

Any ideas please?

I have a Novatech iForge PC
Core i7 950
6Gb RAM
(SATA HDDs disconnected)
GeForce GTX470
Gigabyte GA-X58-USB3 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) Motherboard

Thanks!

Try this.
Open terminal (ctrl+Alt+T) and write:
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

At the end of the file that will open add the line:
blacklist uas

Save, exit, reboot and see if that helped.

Oh WOW! Thank you so much - I have been trawling the internet for hours without any other working solution.

Really appreciate the fast response.
