I'm not sure if you guys call it: Avant Window Navigator 0.4.1 or the Taskbar. The other day my Taskbar/Avant Window Navigator 0.4.1 disappeared. I couldn't figure out how to restart or even shut the computer down. Without it I couldn't get the terminal either. When this happens how can one restart the computer?

Hi,

restart by pressing Ctrl + Alt+ Del and then it should ask you if you want to log out, at the login window, there is a button to shutdown or restart the system.

Please take a look at the update guide:

If you have an Nvidia graphics card:

For post install help:

To open a terminal:

Ctrl + Alt+ t

Then enter the terminal command: "sudo reboot" or "sudo shutdown -r" and to shutdown completely "sudo poweroff"

Other commands to get you out of a graphical environment:

Ctrl + Alt + F2 or Ctrl + Alt + Backspace followed by Ctrl + Alt + Del
