i have been loading a couple of movies off the net and convert them to avi so i can play them over my tv
i think originality thy would have been 5.1 surround sound but my Tv does not support that so the sound on my conversions is quite quiet, is there a program out there that i can run to increase the sound affects on on these downloaded movies
many thanks

Hi,

you can try Pulse Audio Manager, see this guide and make sure you have the "non-free-codecs" pack installed via the Medibuntu repo:

Important are the settings for your devices, make sure that the correct device for output is selected!!.
