Hi,

simply open Synaptic and type google chrome in search then right click the package and "Mark For Complete Removal" and then on apply!!.

You can also do this via a terminal with the command:

sudo apt-get remove google-chrome-stable

Wolfman - and where is synaptic? I looked under system tools menu selection and it is not there.

Why is chrome not included in the software center?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

it is (should be) under:

Menu > System Tools > Administration > Synaptic

Google Chrome is "Non-Free" software and that is why it is not in the Ubuntu Software Centre, the term "Non-Free" just means that no one apart from Google devs can muck around with it's code!!. It is free to download and use of course!!.

Yah... I see how Linux is going... Promoted and free in code and free as is free beer.

I knew that would eventually all come to a fading end!

The whole philosophy behind Linux was to help the human race and allow us to
become a giving society. I know there's more to this, but I know people can't live
on 'Love' alone. Doesn't pat the rent.

Anyway... It's my rant.

Thanks for your help Wolfman!
