I noted the post about 6.3 upgrade. I ran Update Manager and it doesn't say Zorin 6.3 is available but New Ubuntu Release 12.10 is available. Is that what I should install? If not, perhaps I'm not pointing to the right repositories?

Hi,

if you have already installed Zorin 6 and it is fully updated; you don't need Zorin 6.3.

Your update settings should say "Never" when asked about whether you want to fully update the system (Notify me of a new Ubuntu version) to the next higher version, see this guide and look closely at the 3rd pic (Updates) carefully!!.

Don't install Ubuntu 12.10 otherwise you may end up with a crippled system of half Ubuntu 12.10 and half Zorin OS!!. You can of course do so if you wish but the latest release from Ubuntu is 13.04 and if you install 12.10, as soon as you reboot, it will ask to upgrade to 13.04!!.
