[SOLVED] White background to sound, user, clock on 'panel'

I've got AWN set to 'transparent' which is just lovely but the clock, system user, sound, wifi etc. have a white background that i can't seem to change. Autohide is good but i wish everything on the panel could be transparent.

Zorin 7 - pretty cool!

Hi,

click on the panel with a right click > dock preferences > themes > select the theme you want > customise > use Gtk theme colours or you can muck around with the various setting in the customise window!!.

Hi,

look at the pics above carefully, the one that says "Themes" has a "Customise" button at the bottom on the left, just click there and play around with it.

Wolfman, you got me!

Got into Themes section and customized just about everything i could click on.
Hit GTK too, but nothings changing.

So, i guess that not only makes me a non-geek but a nerd too!

Hi,

did you install the graphic card drivers for your PC??.

System Settings > Hardware > Additional Drivers
(Nvidia and ATI only!!)

Then try again if you can!!.

What GTK theme are you using??.

I have it set to GTK with Zorin default - autohide - no style.

"Additional drivers" option is not there.
Installed everything i could tick on during installation process.

BTW, trying to modify .grub file and it says i don't have permissions.
I'm the only user / administrator.

awn-applets-all isn't in the software packages, so i downloaded it from here:
http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package/we ... pplets-all
and software manager opened up and said "dependency is not satisfiable.

Thanks for Grub tip, everything is running fine now.

Main server - check!

Good luck with installations!

Update: after double-checking to make sure i had 'main server' on,
did an update and i think AWN was updated in the process.
Reboot gave me a whole new one to discover.

Thanks a bunch friends! :)

Well, kind of... actually, with the beautiful, shiny and new AWN, i don't know how to access the 'startup menu' items anymore.

You win some, you lose some!

Update: got it! it's called Cairo Main Menu.

Consider this thread officially closed. :)
