I am still a linux noob, but after my last linux updates, my system has reset to default settings. Like my monitor is switching off after 10 minutes, even though i have it selected not to. All my mouse settings I had have reset and cant get it back the way it was. It wiped all my history in my firefox browser despite not seeing any browser updates in the last update. How can i restore my system to the way it was before the updates?

Hi,

it sounds like you did a complete re-install rahter than an update!!.

For screen blanking:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2529

You screensaver settings should look like this in the System Settings Menu:

Brightness & Lock_002.jpg

Read through the update guide and repeat the process using the "DPKG" method described:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2247

Let us know what happens.
