hey guys I am new to Zorin and Lenux in general

when I try to paste files (drivers) into my printer folder " /usr/lib/cups/filter/ ", so that I can install my printer properly
it tells me

"permission denied" "you are not the owner"

and I am the only account (admin)

how do I fix that "owner issue"?

Hi Contra,

you cannot do it because you are not root even though you are admin.

To make yourself root do the following:

Open a terminal (Ctrl + Alt +t) and type:

Code:
gksudo nautilus

enter your password then press return and the home folder will open as root with full admin rights, make your changes and close Nautilus (your home folder). Once closed; all admin rights as root are recinded!!.
