Sound is high pitch

For some odd reason, all the sound effects that is coming from my speakers are high pitched.
This never happened when I had Windows Vista/7.
I love Zorin OS and I wish to keep using it so can anyone please help me with this high pitch problem.

Hi,

do you have the speakers right next to your PC of monitor as that can cause feedback?.

Have you checked the sound settings manager for any sliders you may have too high; in particular the "Output Volume" !!.
