Hi,
try inserting the disk and as soon as you see the main boot menu, press the "
Tab" key (beside the "q" key with the opposing arrows on the left of your keyboard) and type "
noapic" and press enter again, this should prevent a block on the kernel.
If you still have problems, download a new ISO from
a different location and burn a new disk and do as Swarf suggested by checking the md5sum.
