PC runs hot when on stand by.

Hi, when my laptop is asleep the place where the hdd is located get really hot. Why does that happen if the pc is supposed to be doing nothing?

Hi,

have you made sure that the intake fan isn't blocked or dirty?, use a vacum cleaner at the lowest setting and clean the fan air intake and see if that helps. Is the PC on a flat surface with nothing blocking the intake fan like a blanket or cloth of some sort?.
