Black screen after kernel update

I have updated the kernel to Linux 3.11 and many bugs have been fixed, but one thing is really annoying: When I suspend the laptop and turn i on, unlock screen gets black (not totally black, I can still see the screen in the minimal brightness from an angle). But when I press "Fn+→" or "Fn+←" in order to change the brightness, display gets normal again. Issue does not happen when I select an old kernel in my grub.

Should I wait for an update or is there a way of fixing it?

Hi,

assuming you are using Zorin 7, you can try this or wait for a newer kernel update:

http://linuxg.net/fix-the-backlight-pro ... -ringtail/

You can also try running "DPKG" from the recovery menu:

(A network cable is needed for the above!)
