Trying to install a program following a post by madvinegar here
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2316&hilit=conky

I get down to where he says "copy files x1 x2 x3, to home folder". My question is where were they downloaded to, to start with? I have searched google, tried find, locate, and opening places searching files and folders, but can not find them. I should probbably just wait until I know more about linux before I try doing anything like this, but how do you learn?

Thanks, I bookmarked those, but when reading the original post I missed the link at the bottom to download the tar file.

Hi,

under normal circumstances; the files are downloaded to your "Downloads" folder in your home!. (Unless you changed the preferences yourself!)

Is this solved now?.

He means my conky guide.
He did not see that at the end of the post I was attaching the files needed.
