[SOLVED] desktop standby

hi all,bear in mind i dont have a clue,my screen goes on to standby every 5 minutes how can i extend this to longer,preferably never.
i have a tower not a laptop running 6.1 64 bit,Q6600 quad,4gig ram ,if that helps.
