First time installation: Already have dual boot windows 7 and Linus Mint 15: installation of Zorin 7 (another external hard drive) installation started up to the language option, then display went out with blue lines across and installationstop. Need Help.

Hi,

first off,try running "DPKG" per this guide (A network cable is required, NOT WiFi unless you really know what you are doing!):

Do you have an Nvidia graphics card?, if you do, see this thread and add the PPA for your system and restart and update immediately after installing the drivers:

More details about your PC would help.

Thank you so much for your response. I am sorry. I am new to Linux. How do I change and add those command if installation of zorin 7 stop after selecting the language and started the initial installation.

Can I add the Live DVD and update the command for the NVIDIA graphic card?

I have not installed to external drive but it could be a 'mount' issue as during install, most GNU/Linux distros don't like anything mounted.

Hi,

sorry, I completely misread your first post, if you are booting from a DVD, did you burn the disk at the slowest possible speed?:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4771

As soon as you start the live CD and you see the Zorin menu, press the "Tab" key and type "nomodeset" and hit enter and see if it boots!.

Burning the disk slowly is very important!!.
