Thunderbird on Zorin 7

Having successfully installed Zorin 7 in place of the hated Windows 8(!) I had no problems getting Thunderbird to work. However...

In the past I have stored my Thunderbird profile on Dropbox, so that I can get into my e-mails on several different computers and have all my stored messages available. This has worked fine under Windows.

But although I have successfully linked Thunderbird under Zorin to the same profile, the folders display in the left column does not show all my usual e-mail folders, but instead appears to show the individual filenames in the profile folder on the disk. This is not helpful!

Does anyone have any idea how I might adjust things to achieve the original aim?

Looks like it might be best to use IMAP rather than POP for my e-mails!

Hi Phil,

you need to check with your Email service as to what protocol they are using before you make changes, POP is standard with most ISP's I think?.
