Using Arduino with Wine

Hi,

I have downloaded and installed the windows .exe of the arduino software through Wine, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to get the software to see the Arduino when it's plugged in. I've tried following some tutorials on how to create a symbolic link so that Com1 in windows is really /dev/ttyACM0, but I haven't had much luck that. Also, if it's not obvious, I'm pretty new to Linux so the more detailed the help, the better.

Also, for those wondering why I don't just install the linux version for Arduino, I have plotting software that only runs on Windows that needs to be able to access the ArduinoUno that I'm using.

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Hi,

you can check out the Ubuntu version here, I know you said you don't want to use it but I would try it anyway!:

For more detailed help, I would snoop around their own forum starting here:

Sorry that I cannot be of more help.
