Hi,

I have a toshiba laptop. Below is the info on the display driver. Zorin runs fast on my system. The problem is using an external lcd tv through the hdmi port. I get the background image displayed on the tv but nothing else. I was running wallch to change the background. When I terminated it I received a message that was displayed on the tv but not the monitor. I have searched this forum and used google for a broader search. I have tried the upgrade and dist-upgrade command and also logged out then back in. All to no effect. I migrated from ubuntu which supported the external display to fedora which I never tested. I really like this zorin and would love to fix this problem. Thanks for your assistance with this matter.

Hi,

you can safely ignore the warnings about 3rd party software as long as you trust the source!.

You must make sure that the PC is switched off but connected to the TV with a HDMI cable and that the TV is also switched off, then switch on the TV and then start your PC and see if that helps, you can check the settings in System Settings >Hardware > Displays > Detect Displays and see if that helps!.

Let us know how you get on.
